Despite the Falcons refusal to consider the organization as rebuilding, many feel that is the case, especially after signing a number of free agents to one or two year deals.
Atlanta Falcons Digital Reporter Scott Bair considers tonight the start of the Falcons rebuild and hopes the base for the future can be found in this draft.
"I talked to Arthur (Smith) and Terry (Fontenot) and the more I started thinking about it, everything was a prelude to this. You are going to have $100 Million in cap space next year and your are really transitioning to this new era, and you have five picks in the top 82, all premium. I would expect a significant contributor out of each one of those," says Bair. "This is a real opportunity to put their stamp on this roster and get significantly better for 2022 and beyond."
The Falcons currently have 9 picks in the 2022 Draft (if they don't make trades), including two picks in both the second (43 & 58) and third (74& 82) rounds and one pick in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th rounds.
