The Atlanta Falcons have done everything in their power to try to get themselves under the salary cap for the 2021 season. Terry Fontenot did exactly what he had to do, albeit reluctantly, by restructuring Matt Ryan's contract.
Some would even say by restructuring Ryan's contract, almost guarantees him being around for at least two years. But there is one player that the Atlanta Falcons should be keeping around for the foreseeable future.
Jon Chuckery has always been on board with the Falcons doing what they have to do financially as a team. He thinks the Falcons can solve some of those issues by giving Grady Jarrett an extension. "It makes more sense to extend him than restructure him," Chuckery said.
It would be interesting to see if the Falcons would make this decision because they could definitely use some cap relief. It all boils down to whether or not Jarrett would be interested in agreeing to such a deal.
