Coming into this season a lot of local media knew this was a Falcons team that could be playoff contenders, but most of the national media saw this year’s Falcons as just a young and upcoming team. However, national NFL writer for NFL Media & NFL.com Eric Edholm joined The Morning Shift earlier today, and he believes the Falcons’ "trajectory" and "perception" changed after their win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night.

“I think the love will come. I really do. I think that performance planted a seed in a lot of people’s heads and if they go out to San Francisco and repeat that and play even better then boy of all sudden they’ll get a lot of love, like I said in my power rankings I said this win changed the trajectory for this team completely, and the perception of it.” Edholm said

A win for the Falcons on Sunday would mean three wins in a row, back-to-back wins against teams currently over .500 and potential playoff teams, back-to-back wins in prime time and on national television, and more than likely a lot more love from the national media like Eric is predicting.
