Earlier today Ali Mac and Mike Johnson spent some time with NFL writer for CBS Sports Tyler Sullivan, and he explained why he thinks the Falcons should be favorites to win the NFC South this year if “everything hits right” for them.
“The Atlanta Falcons are very much in the conversation of winning that division especially with the skill position players that they have and they can really kind of over extenuate the skillset that Michael Penix Jr. or Tua Tagovailoa have and that defense with those young guys I think that there is a legitimate chance the Falcons at the end of the day win this NFC South if everything hits right whether that is Michael Penix Jr. becoming the week one starter or Tua comes in and kind of stabilizes things under center.” Sullivan said
Over the last few seasons it feels like the Falcons have just been good quarterback play away from winning the NFC South, and it looks like it’s going to be the same story this season as well.
