Local Atlanta Falcons media and Falcons fans know that Drake London has only improved every year he’s been in the league, but after a breakout year last season where he hauled in 100 catches for 1,271, and scored nine touchdowns other NFL General Managers, Coaches, and the national media is now giving Drake his due praise.
National NFL writer for The Athletic Mike Jones talked about that earlier today on The Morning Shift, and talked about just how the national media views the Falcons’ former eighth overall pick.
“I’ve asked scouts, GMs, coaches, and a lot of people view him as one of the top young ascending players in the league. Now, is he in that top 10 range of all wide receivers, including veteran wide receivers, probably not but he’s approaching there, and again if Michael Penix Jr. can really develop and they develop a strong connection then you can see him continue to ascend, but he’s definitely viewed as a promising guy that can make an impact.” Jones said
In the three games Michael Penix Jr. started last season there was no fall off from London as far as production goes, and so far during Falcons’ training camp the 9 to 5 connection only seems to be getting stronger. As both Penix Jr. and Drake continue to develop and get better as their own players and as a duo there shouldn’t be any doubt that Drake London will soon be viewed as just a top 10 wide receiver in the NFL period.
