Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank joined Dukes & Bell live from Radio row and talked about how involved is he with the day to day operations of the Falcons?
When asked how involved he is with the team.
“First of all I’ve never been a meddler, that’s against my religion of any sort, but never, I am a fan,” Blank said. “What I hope and what I expect from the general manager, the head coach and Rich Mckay, our president of AMBSE, is that I’m aware of the decisions that they are making and why they are making them and I want to make sure from my standpoint after listening to their vision. Coach Smith and Terry Fontenot both had a very precise description of what they wanted the team to look like in a couple of years, they have followed that path.”
Blank talked about the leadership that Smith and Fontenot have showed.
“The decision making they’ve made in free agency to an extent but particularly in the draft have followed it exactly, I think the team has established an identity this year in terms of offense, we move the ball on the ground. That’s in keeping with exactly what Coach Smith and Terry had described going back two years now, what I’m looking for is leadership that’s consistent in not only what they message but how they make decisions. And I think these two are doing a really good job in that regard.”
