The days continue to count down for the Falcons to decide on who will be their quarterback next season. Rumors swirled last week at the NFL Scouting Combine as several signal callers were linked to Atlanta including Kirk Cousins and Justin Fields. Fields’ rumors continue to be the main topic of conversations as reported meetings took place between the two sides in Indianapolis. One of the biggest obstacles, should Fields come to Atlanta, will be to fully unlock his potential that he’s shown flashes of during his time in Chicago.

Fields would come to Atlanta with a fresh start and the full support of a staff that believes in his talents to be the next franchise quarterback.  Podcast host and analyst Matt Simms joined Dukes & Bell Monday and echoed those sentiments. Simms feels that if Fields can get that full support thrown behind him he can finally play with the consistency that eluded him in Chicago.

If the Falcons choose to trade for Fields they can then take the No. 8 overall pick and draft talent to help further complete the roster.
The money they would save opposed to signing a Kirk Cousins would also allow for more talent to be added around him.
