Falcons Training Camp is underway and over the weekend Atlanta Falcons Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees spoke and got fired up about his defense and made very clear about his expectations for the season, the era of not finishing top 10 is done, and while they are lofty expectations, they may not be off the mark.

Former Pro Bowl Defensive Lineman Hugh Douglas heard what Coach Pees said and it reminded him of a time in his career when things changed for him and he feels that the Falcons defense could take a major step forward towards being a truly impactful unit.

"Going to Philadelphia from New York, it was different, it was all about defense, all about the mentality. When I hear what Coach Pees said, it reminder me of Jim Johnson," says Hugh Douglas. "When you change the culture and hold yourself to a higher standard, it is different. You want to have pride but sometimes you need to be reminded and go old school and that's what Coach Pees is trying to bring to the Atlanta Falcons."

The Falcons defense was at the bottom of the league last season, they had far and away the worst pass rush in the NFL and along with the additions made in free agency and the draft, and stronger-minded culture could play a large role to a big improvement for the defense.
