While the Atlanta Falcons lost another preseason game on Friday as they were defeated 23-20 by the Tennessee Titans and saw quarterback, Emory Jones (concussion), who was released by the team on Monday, knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter, the biggest news was the absence of rookie Jalon Walker, who was later announced to have “tweaked” his groin, as he has been dealing with injury throughout training camp.
“Mike Bell, I am concerned about this whole Jalon Walker thing,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said on Monday as he and Bell reacted to news of Walker’s injury, noting the rookie edge rusher has already missed several practices and Friday’s game against the Titans
“It’s lingered the entire camp,” Dukes continued, sharing thoughts on head coach, Raheem Morris’ stating the team will be cautious with Walker as he attempts to work his way back to the field. “It’s not a knock on Jalon Walker, but as Carl and I say and you guys know it, availability is the best ability,” Bell said as he shared why he believes Walker’s injury has him “behind the eight ball,” in getting ready for the season.
“And my concern is this, maybe we won’t get a chance to see him do it. Are we talking about three, four, five weeks into the season Mike before we see a healthy Jalon Walker? And here’s the thing too and let’s just be completely honest. All of you wanted this team badly, desperately to draft a Georgia Bulldog. Did we get the right one?” Dukes asked.
