Earlier today on The Morning Shift, the crew reacted to the news that Atlanta Falcons edge rusher James Pearce Jr. is back with the team and is expected to take part in this week's minicamp, and explained why they think Pearce Jr. likely won’t be suspended or get any sort of discipline or ruling from the NFL until next year.
“I think the NFL is gonna wait for this entire program to play out, full year, the legal process, and then if he completes it alright here’s your six game suspension, he’ll appeal, they’ll drop it to four, or if he has a misstep and then they go well now we’re even gonna wait even longer to see what happens with these charges.” Beau Morgan said
If the NFL is waiting to see if the former 26th overall pick gets through his one-year diversion program without any hiccups before they hand out any sort of punishment or ruling, if all goes according to plan for James Pearce and the Falcons then Pearce Jr. will play this entire season for Atlanta, get through his one-year program without any missteps, and receive a four to six game suspension next season, which will be a great outcome compared to the other outcomes that were originally on the table when this all first happened.
