Atlanta Falcons rookie left guard Matthew Bergeron is currently taking first-team reps in training camp after Matt Hennessy went down with an injury. And while Bergeron feels like he’s progressing as he transitions from tackle to guard, earlier Tuesday he told The Morning Shift that he still has a lot of work to do.

“Well, for me, that’s the hardest part right," said Bergeron. "At tackle I feel like you got a little bit more time when it comes down to the wide zone man reach and the tight zone man reach you got more time at guard everything happens a little faster. I gotta be quicker with my hands and my footwork. I’m getting better with my footwork. I still got a lot of job to do with my hands.”

Obviously no football player is perfect, especially a rookie, but it will be interesting to see how fast Bergeron is able to progress as he is learning in the fire right now while he continues to get the majority of first-team reps.
