The Atlanta Falcons are having trouble getting opposing quarterbacks on the ground. Fans see it, and so does the team, apparently. Head coach Raheem Morris admitted as much and told Dukes & Bell Matthew Judon must do a better job in Atlanta's pass-rush situations.
"That's the guy (Judon) to me, if he pops, it's going to take this thing to another level," Carl Dukes said about the defensive lineman's potential.
But, what's holding him back? Could Judon be out of shape?
Judon was an elite pass-rusher just a short time ago. But he didn't have camp, Dukes said. He was just hanging around before his trade to the Falcons, and upon his arrival it seemed to take a few weeks for Judon to fully be involved on the field. Is it possible Judon isn't having his normal impact on Sundays because he didn't work up to his high output levels in training camp?
Falcons coaches continue to say Judon's coming. But Dukes & Bell relayed stories of all the rumors floating around about Judon not being in game shape.
"I'm not questioning his effort," Dukes said. "He might not be in complete football shape yet, and I think that sounds crazy to a lot of people but that's kind of what I felt coach was telling us yesterday in 'It's coming.'"
Matthew Judon is coming, he's about to erupt on the scene.
"Read between the lines," Bell said.
