When Audacy NFL Insider Michael Lombardi joined The Midday Show with Andy and Randy to give his insight and opinion on the Falcons' 2022 NFL Draft class, he did not hold back when he expressed how shocked he was by the Falcons decision to draft USC WR Drake London with the 8th-overall pick.

Lombardi emphasized to Andy and Randy that “as bad as they are on both, offensive and defensive lines”, that he was surprised the Falcons passed on several quality big men that were available at the 8 selection.
Many draft analysts feel the Falcons indeed picked the best available athlete at the time, when they turned in the card with London’s name on it.
But the debate over best available player or team need is a question many teams battle.
Lombardi supported his questioning of the London pick by referencing several key statistics from the 2021 season.
“Thirty-first in rushing, 30th in yards per carry, couldn’t stop the run,” said Lombardi when elaborating to Andy and Randy why he was confused by the Falcons decision.
“Why didn’t they pick Jordan Davis?” asked Lombardi, when going back and forth with the guys.
Andy and Randy finished the conversation by asking Michael his opinions on the Falcons selections of Montana State LB Troy Andersen and Cincinnati QB Desmond Ridder.
