New Off-Season, Same Hope that Falcons Fix Pass Rush

Team Needs to Improve on Near Dead Last Team Sack Numbers

A new off-season brings renewed hope and optimism for just about every NFL team. For the Falcons, it presents a chance to (paraphrasing Grady Jarrett after the Ravens loss) fix the "same (bleep), different year". And if that quote should apply to anything, it's the Falcons anemic pass rush.

With 21 this season, and 18 last season, the Falcons finished right at the bottom of the league. The Eagles finished with more sacks this season (70) than the Falcons have had in the past 3 seasons combined (68). The team hasn't seen a double digit sack season from a player since Vic Beasley's 15.5 in 2016.

Whether it be in free agency, where the Falcons will have nore than $70 million to spend, or the draft, where they'll have the 8th overall pick, the Falcons will have to find a spark to pick up that pass rush. And on today's Steakhouse, Steak and Drew discussed how successful this team could be if they could just find consistent pressure from the outside, similar to what the Eagles are doing this year.
