There’s plenty of local and national media outlets, writers, and personalities that are high on the Atlanta Falcons this year, but there are also plenty that aren’t so high on the Falcons this year as well. Earlier today national NFL writer for NFL Media and NFL.com Eric Edholm joined The Morning Shift and gave his take on what he sees the Falcons doing this year.

“Are they better than the Bucs? I don’t know. I would say no not right now until proven otherwise. I think they’re better than the Panthers. I think they can kind of get a foothold in that division. Can they crank it up to that next level? I sort of have them more in that eight, nine win range, maybe a little higher, but maybe a little lower.” Edholm said

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the five-time defending NFC South champs, so it’s completely fair to say the Falcons aren’t better than the Bucs until proven otherwise, but time will work that out. However, after the way last season ended and the energy and optimism the fan base has going into this season it would certainly be a disappointing year for the Falcons if they miss the playoffs for an eighth straight season.
