During the Atlanta Falcons three game losing streak there have been a lot of fans and members of the media calling for the job of Head Coach Raheem Morris. However, earlier today The Morning Shift explained why Raheem deserves one more year after this season, barring a major collapse or meltdown.
“At this point as it stands right now I’m not firing Raheem [Morris] because he has shown that he does not have the loyalty that a lot of people criticize him of. The Ike Hilliard firing, the Jimmy Lake firing last year, hey Ray-Ray [McCloud] you want to be a problem? Bye. I’m not dealing with it, and that’s why I’m like okay I gotta give Raheem one more shot to get the offensive coordinator hire right…” Mike Johnson said
Mike finished his point by saying “I think that if he tries to stand by Zac [Robinson] in the long run it’s going to get him fired, so like I said to me right now I’m on board with him being here. I’m trying to ask for Raheem to get fired, but it is a very short rope.”
Right now it’s safe to say Raheem got the defensive coordinator hire right the second time around when he hired Jeff Ulbrich in the offseason, and as long as the Falcons are competitive this season, and are fighting for a playoff spot until the very end he deserves a second chance to get his offensive coordinator right just like he got his DC right the second time around.
