The Atlanta Falcons dropped a disappointing game to the Washington Commanders on Sunday to slip behind Tampa Bay in the NFC South and outside of the playoff picture. Fans are understandably frustrated with the way the team has faltered down the stretch, but how much faith should they have moving into the future?
The Morning Shift discussed the franchise outlook behind Raheem Morris, Michael Penix, and what we've seen from the team in the second half of the season.
"Even though the now is not seeming so good, as far as making the postseason after being 6-3 [and] coming into the season with all of these expectations with Kirk Cousins," Dylan said on Tuesday morning. "The future does seem bright. While Falcons fas are still hurting about the loss to the Commanders after Raheem Morris mismanaged the clock... There is still hope for the future."
Dylan highlights what he has seen from their rookie quarterback through his first two starts, mentioning how he's looked the part of a franchise quarterback. He then moves to the other pieces on this team and how their developments throughout the season have given him hope moving forward.
"Bijan Robinson is an absolute superstar," Dylan continued. "Drake London is proving to be a bonafide wide receiver-one, Darnell Mooney is looking like one of the more underrated free agent signings, and this team is looking like it has a really bright future."
