Dukes & Bell welcomed new Falcons QB Taylor Heinicke to the show on Friday following another day of Training Camp at Flowery Branch. Heinicke will serve as the backup to Desmond Ridder this season after signing a deal that brought him to Atlanta from Washington. He discussed his decision to come to Atlanta and mentor Desmond Ridder.
“I saw a young team with great culture and they’re building something special here. I saw Desmond Ridder and he played 3 or 4 games last year and I felt like I could bring some value to help him for his career,” Heinicke detailed.
The 30-year-old QB made nine starts for Washington last season, tossing 12 touchdowns to 6 interceptions. He is no stranger to the Falcons having completed a game-winning touchdown against the team two seasons ago.
