The Falcons have a number of defensive deficiencies and they're only going to be able to address a few of them, but the one thing that is for certain is whomever they add in the draft, a trade, or in free agency, is going to be counted on to be an immediate starter. The Falcons could end up drafting either a pass rusher or a cornerback, potentially even an offensive lineman, but no matter who they draft, one thing is clear, that player needs to start immediately.

The Falcons are looking for a starting corner they can place and trust opposite of AJ Terrell, but they are also looking for a pass rush that can come in and have a consistent and immediate impact.

The Falcons actually make have a few more answers in the pass rush than the secondary if you trust the development of Arnold Ebiketie, the return of a healthy Bralen Trice, and the sophomore season of Ruke Orhorhoro. Does that mean they could use their first round draft pick in the secondary and not up front? No matter which position they choose, expect them to be thrust into the lineup immediately.
