With their first official team-related activities in the books, the Atlanta Falcons will now get set for their second round of OTAs as some players look to take advantage of the time and work toward securing their spot on the roster. And while some players will not have as much pressure on them as others, there is one in particular that 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery says has to have a breakout type of season.
“I have said repeatedly on my show that I think that Arnold Ebiketie has got to, maybe even more than Desmond Ridder in some ways, that he’s got to step up and become that pass-rusher that we’re looking for to at least solidify one side of that defensive line,” Chuckery said to D. Orlando Ledbetter, who cover the Falcons for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “You need somebody to turn into a stud. You have to find football players. If you don’t, you have to develop them."
As their conversation continued, Ledbetter shared with Chuckery that with Ebiketie being a second-round pick for the Falcons in the 2022 NFL Draft, the second-year linebacker will have more eyes on him this upcoming season to see if he can make the necessary leap to really help improve the Atlanta defense.
“He’s got a prime target on his back,” Ledbetter added.
