After four weeks the Atlanta Falcons are currently third in total defense in the NFL, and while there are a lot of reasons for that earlier today The Morning Shift explained why Jeff Ulbrich’s use of inside linebacker Divine Deablo is the main reason for the Falcons’ early season success on defense.

“They allow him to just kind of roam right there in the middle of the defense and play that middle linebacker spot, it’s awesome. It’s awesome the way they utilize him, his speed, his length like Raheem [Morris] was just talking about, and he’s so versatile as a player because he’s strong but he’s fast, and when you have a guy like that defensively he changes almost everything you’re trying to accomplish.” Mike Johnson said

Divine signed a two-year, $14 million-dollar deal with the Falcons this offseason, and through four games Deablo has 18 total tackles, one tackle for loss, half a sack, three pass deflections, and a fumble recovery. It’s still early, but right now Deablo is looking like one of the best free-agent signings from this offseason as he has quickly become an integral piece of Atlanta’s top three defense.
