With the much anticipated first NFL start by Desmond Ridder yesterday against the Saints, Dukes & Bell talked about his performance and what they learned about the rookie quarterback.
Dukes talked about Ridder’s performance against the Saints.
“What have we learned about Desmond Ridder, this is what I learned, the kid showed a lot of poise,” Dukes said. “That last drive in that moment, I use the term when it matters most, that was one of those drives that if he goes down and we do score, and again not his fault he completes the pass ball security, fumble. But he was showing me that he has the leadership and the ability to do it in a big spot where we needed it.”
Carl said even after what he saw from Ridder there are still questions to be answered.
“I think if we go down and score right there that’s a different game, I think we win the game.
I like the makeup of Desmond Ridder, the bigger question for the Falcons moving forward is, they liked him too or they would not have drafted him but is he going to be the guy that leads this franchise? And You have a small window to figure that out, we are now down to three games after yesterday.”
