Which Falcons players need good outings on Saturday ahead of final cuts

John Chuckery shares his thoughts on which Falcons players will need to perform well in final pre-season game

As the Falcons prepare for their final pre-season game of the 2022 season, they will also be making their final roster cuts to get down to the league required 53-man roster and that means there maybe some player that will have to make their final impression on Coach Arthur Smith and his staff on Saturday when they face the Jags.

“Who needs a good performance on Saturday from the Falcons,” Jon Chuckery asked on Wednesday night during his 92-9 The Game show. “I think anybody who plays defensive end could use a good performance,” the host continued, naming players such as Arnold Ebiketie, Lorenzo Carter and Adetokunbo as a few guys that he believes “could use a good performance at home against the Jaguars” as well as “any backup offensive linemen”.

Chuckery’s producer, DA-DA Lewis chimed in as well adding that he agreed that backup offensive linemen need to play well on Saturday, but that Jalen Mayfield in particular, was in need of a standout performance. “There’s just so much on the line for him,” Lewis would add before continuing to name Felipe Franks as another Falcons player he hopes to see have a good outing on Saturday. “I want to see him make this team as a tight end,” Lewis said explaining that after seeing Franks take reps at the position during training camp, he believes the quarterback, possibly turned tight end looked “comfortable” and could have success at the position.
