Arguably one of the best players in Atlanta Falcons history, former quarterback, Matt Ryan has been at the center of reports which have stated he has been in talks with the organization for a potential front office role and with the team’s recent decision to relieve Rich McKay of his role as president of football, there has been some speculation Ryan may assume the role.
“I don’t think anybody in their right mind would not want Matt Ryan apart of this new regime,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said on Monday as he and cohost, Mike Bell reacted to the possibility of Ryan becoming the Falcons’ president of football.
“But I also know that Matt Ryan, Mike, and again, as reported by Tom Pelissero, saying he still would like to do some TV stuff or still would like to be with CBS. I just don’t feel like that is plausible,” Dukes said, expressing concern about Ryan being hired for the president role and still serving as an analyst for CBS.
“As a fan, I don’t want to be cheated. I don’t want to feel like his attention is somewhere else when it needs to be here,” Dukes continued as he explained why he believes Ryan splitting time between television and Falcons duties give him reason for reservation in the former quarterback taking on the front office role.
