Why there may not be a DAWG left when Falcons pick at 15

With the NFL combine next week, eyes are starting to shift to the 2025 NFL Draft coming up in April. If the Atlanta Falcons stand pat, they will pick at #15. There is much speculation, for quite obvious reasons, that the Falcons go after the EDGE rusher that they have needed since drafting Vic Beasley in 2015. There are a ton of reasons why drafting a Georgia Bulldog this year makes sense for the Falcons, which they have only done 12 times in the last 50 years.

ESPN made a list of the projected first round prospects entering the draft, that actually graded out as first round picks. Surprise, Surprise, 2 of the 3 EDGE rushers that are listed are Georgia Bulldogs: Jalon Walker (ranked 5th overall), and Mykel Williams (ranked 12th overall). The only other EDGE rusher that is on this list as having a 1st round grade is number 1 overall prospect Abdul Carter out of Penn State. All of the stars are aligning for both the Falcons to take their biggest position of need, and for it to be a Georgia Bulldog, which is what a large majority of fans want. This rarely happens, where both teams’ needs and fans’ wants align.
But there is one problem: After next week’s combine, none of these guys may be there for the Falcons at pick #15. Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael expand on this, and what the Falcons should do with their first round draft pick.
