21 games in, Trae Young still isn't the leader the Hawks need

"It's ok to want Trae to be better."

The Atlanta Hawks suffered their third loss in a row Monday night, this time at the hands of the James Harden- and Tyrese Maxey-less 76ers, 104-101. After going up by as many as 16 points in the first half, the Hawks faltered down the stretch.

This seems to be a recurring theme, as the team has now blown double-digit leads in each of their last three losses. It's Trae Young sitting squarely in crosshairs in the midst of this recent run of bad play, as he's shot under 40 percent from the field and 25 percent from 3 in the last three losses. And it's OK to be a critical of how's he's playing this season.

On today's Steakhouse, Steak Shapiro discussed that's it's OKok to want more from Young, especially from the leadership standpoint. The excuse of needing more games to see this team come together is starting to become just that - an excuse.

"You've played with John Collins for four years," Steak said about Trae's experience with this current team. "You've played with De'Andre Hunter for three years." Yes, Bodgan has yet to play this season. Even without him, though, it feels like this team is missing the big voice from its superstar.

Listening to Young after last night's loss, you can hear that he feels like this team is going to pull it together.

"I know it's gonna turn eventually because the guys we got work too hard," Young said said after the loss. After 21 games this year, aren't we at the point where that time has already come?
