After tearing his radial collateral ligament (RCL) in the fifth finger of his left hand, Trae Young will undergo surgery Tuesday and will be evaluated in four weeks. The Atlanta Hawks now have to find a way to win games without their three time All-Star. The Morning Shift discussed if a Dejounte Murray-led Hawks team could find a way to go on a run and move up the Eastern Conference standings.

Murray was a rebound shy of a triple double in the Hawks’ 109-92 win over the Orlando Magic Sunday night. He finished the game with 25 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds, and two steals.

With Murray clearly being the focal point of the offense now, and being able to play his true point guard position he should continue to have big performances like he did last night. If you’re the Hawks this is exactly why you traded for a second all-star caliber guard, so if one gets injured the other can pick up the slack, put the team on his back, and keep the ship from sinking.
