“The Hawks right now are in an interesting spot,” NBA on TNT and NBA TV reporter, Jared Greenberg told Steak Shapiro and Sandra Golden on Thursday as he joined the Steakhouse to discuss the latest from around the NBA and the potential of the Atlanta Hawks for the remainder of this season and in seasons to come.
“They are what they are,” Greenberg continued as he shared his thoughts on the ups and downs the Hawks have had throughout this season and why he believes they will eventually find themselves in the play-in round of the NBA playoffs for a fourth consecutive season. “They’re going to win a few in a row, they’re going to lose a few in a row. They’re going to win some games that they shouldn’t of, they’re going to lose some games that they shouldn’t of,” Greenberg continued.
“You look at the bigger picture with the Hawks Steak, I think they’re kind of locked into where they are,” Greenberg went on as he explained why he believes the Hawks will more than likely “be a play in team once again”, not dropping below the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference standings. However, when asked about the Hawks future and potential to eventually be a title contender with their new core of young players.
“I think there’s a lot of upside, I think that this team has a lot of potential to be really good, I think that they certainly need some other pieces in there, but no,” Greenberg told Shapiro and Golden as he noted how teams like the Celtics, Knicks, and Cavs are also young, however have more talent.
