With Atlanta's 116-105 victory over Miami in Tuesday's Play-in Game, Quin Snyder's record as head coach of the Hawks improved to 11-11. But, while winning in the now is definitely on minds of everyone in the organization, the fit between new coach and team is of keen interest.
With Snyder at the helm the future is bright and the team seems to have exuded a new energy, which is a sentiment echoed by Hawks big man, Clint Capela.
"[I] felt like as soon as he came in, the way he’s committed, the way he communicates to us, we all felt we had way more in us, way more potential, the potential to do something special," said Capela. "And I feel like he helped us with that."
Atlanta cruised Tuesday night in the team's huge win. Seven players scored in double digits, including four off the bench. Trae Young was the leader the Hawks needed. The team dominated the glass, including 21 rebounds from Capela. The upcoming round of the playoffs is where fans will find out if there is "more" this season Snyder can pull out of this squad.
The next stop for the Hawks is a playoff matchup with the Boston Celtics.
