The Hawks wrapped up their first round series against the Knicks last night after winning game five at Madison Square Garden. Dukes & Bell talked about the first round series but more importantly Hawks Forward John Collins, who is set to be a free agent at the end of the season and has he shown enough in the playoffs to warrant a new contract from the team?
Dukes talked about what he’s saw from Collins in the first round.
“Did he have an impact? The answer for me is yes, I don’t know if you’re expecting him to do thirty and ten or what we saw with Trae, I don’t expect that from him,” Dukes said. “I need impact, he was present, and I use that word because unlike some of the Knicks player’s we’re talking about, RJ Barrett, they weren’t present, John was present.”
“Is it something that translates to the kind of deal that he’s going to look for? I don’t know, but guess what he’s got four or seven more games to prove in these big moments, look at what I can do, look at how I help this team, look at how much better we are when I’m on the floor, what’s the plus/minus when I’m out here.”
