The offseason carousel continues for the Atlanta Hawks. Trae Young announced on Tuesday he was changing representation from Klutch Sports to CAA. Both organizations are sports agency juggernauts and represent the biggest stars in all of sports. It remains unclear why the move was made or if there is any implications regarding his future with the team.
Young and his fellow backcourt mate Dejounte Murray have been the center of trade rumors as the team continues to sputter. It is widely speculated the team needs an overall reset after failing to repeat their performance in the 2021 season when they reached the Eastern Conference Finals.
Questions about the direction of the team’s leadership also arose after a lackluster finish each of the past three seasons.
One thing remains a constant for the Hawks: big changes are needed. What form those changes come in remains to be seen? Young and Murray were tasked with changing the dynamic of the team. It didn’t work. Now, the Hawks must regroup as an organization and could consider moving on from their franchise player in doing so.
