NBA media and fans alike scratched their collective heads when Dyson Daniels became the centerpiece player returned in the trade for Dejounte Murray. The first round picks certainly shined as well, but Daniels was propped up by the Hawks as a difference maker. The back of his NBA card would indicate otherwise, averaging just 5.6 points per game. But since he has arrived to Atlanta he has been nothing short of a revelation.

Daniels joined Dukes & Bell Thursday and discussed his time in Atlanta so far. He says he came to join a club with potential and to be a contributor in whatever way he can. His leap from role player in New Orleans to burgeoning star in Atlanta cannot be overstated.

The key to Daniels' game has always been his defense. His offensive prowess that has been displayed so far has shocked the NBA world, including a 28-point effort vs Boston.
