The Atlanta Hawks have had an active offseason, naming Onsi Saleh as General Manager and them watching him add Kristaps Porzingis, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Luke Kennard along with some draft day maneuvering to pull one over on the Pelicans. With the Hawks massively trending upwards, the next move should be pretty clear, lock up Trae Young.
"If you're going to do it, do it now. No sense in not doing it if that's the plan," says Mike Conti. "It sounds like Trae has been very active in recruitment, making himself seen, so it feels like it's about to go down."
Trae Young is potentially entering the final season of his current deal as he has a player option for next season. With the recent additions it feels like the Hawks are set up to be competitive and they will need Trae Young here long-term
