Atlanta Hawks Pre and Postgame host Mike Conti joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the breaking news of the trade deadline as our Hawks made a deadline deal which sent Rajon Rondo to the Clippers in exchange for Lou Williams.

Conti talked about what they are getting in Lou Williams.

“His minutes have declined, he’s not the 2019 Lou Williams who was Sixth Man of the Year. He’s down to about 12 points per game,” Conti said. “But if you look at his numbers per 36 minutes, his numbers per 100 possessions, they aren’t really down dramatically from when he was winning Sixth Man of the Year.

“I think one of the things this might indicate is that Kris Dunn is really, really close to coming back. We’ve gotten indications that he might be back at some point on this west coast trip, maybe as early as Tuesday. We’ll have to wait and see obviously. With Kris Dunn coming back now you have another ball-handling point guard which makes Rondo maybe a little less needed from that standpoint. Now you can roll out a back court even if you wanted with Trae and Lou Williams at times and be really, really fun on offense.”
