Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the season thus far, and Collins also spoke about his relationship with star guard Trae Young which has been questioned in the media as of late.
When asked about his relationship with Trae Young.
“It’s a lot to encompass, you know we been together for so long. I feel like a lot of people just see our relationship on the court and see how well we play together and just assume the best,” Collins said. “I feel like we’re not best friends by any standards but we’re friends, we’re brothers in a different sense, it’s a different sense of comradeship and togetherness that we’ve had through battles, the growing as men as young kids coming into this league.
"I feel like me and him have seen some of the same things together, been able to grow through that, as you guys know when you’ve been put into situations, put into the pressure cooker with certain people you come out with different bonds and different relationships with those guys.”
Collins continued about the growth of the relationship between Trae and himself on and off the court.

“Let it be the play on the court that shows you sorta, I guess the finished product, but it’s a lot of hard work that goes into us knowing each other on and off the court and us doing it in a relationship. As I said this league isn’t easy and we’ve had a lot of talks just trying to become better players and become better teammates with each other.”
