Atlanta Hawks Forward John Collins joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the upcoming playoff series against the Knicks and how big is this postseason for his future with this being a contract year for him.
When Collins was asked about how big this postseason is for him in regards to his next contract.
“Never worried, but I’m definitely anxious to start my first playoff series ever, coming off of a season where I just bet on myself,” Collins said. “I have to continue to do so in the playoffs, it’s a big deal for me. It’s not nothing I want to take lightly or anything I want to under approach, I want to attack it the right way and win, prove my value, prove I can play in high situation games such as the playoffs and win those.”
Collins talked about if the contract situation has been something he’s thought about during the season.
“It’s definitely been on my mind the entire year but I felt like it’s something I’ve almost gotten use to the feeling every day of it. I just have to be the best professional I can and live with it every day and understand that this is a business. I try to approach it that way and not let emotions sort of cloud my judgement.”
