Playoffs begin Saturday night for the Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are on a 3-game win streak after Thursday night's dismantling of the Cleveland Cavaliers and are hosting the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday in a key game for the Eastern Conference standings.

With the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference possibly on the line on Saturday night the Atlanta Hawks are hosting the Brooklyn Nets in what could be considered a de-facto play-in game.

"It's going to be a playoff atmosphere because this is a playoff game for both of these teams," said Hawks Broadcaster Steve Holman when he joined John and Hugh on Friday morning. "the Hawks have played well against the Nets this year, they rise to the occasion against the really good teams, gonna be scratching and clawing to move up in the playoff race."

It's significant that the Hawks grab the 8th seed if possible because it would mean they only have to win one game in the play-in round to enter the postseason, not two.

The Hawks have 5 games remaining, three of which are against teams who will be in the playoffs (Nets, Raptors, and Heat), so with such a small margin for error, grabbing a game against the Nets tomorrow night would be a massive step towards their best possible seed.
