Hawks show trust in Quin Snyder with contract extension
The Atlanta Hawks appear to be making it clear they are confident they have the right personnel in place to turn the franchise in the direction of being a title contender as they announced on Monday a multi-year contract extension for head coach Quin Snyder, coming just weeks after Hawks general manager, Onsi Saleh was promoted to president of basketball operations and also received an extension.
“I’ve said this for a while and I’ll repeat it for those of you who missed it, I’ve not judged Quin Snyder because his team’s not been good, but I’m judging him now,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said as he and cohost Mike Bell reacted to the news of Snyder’s extension, which he believes despite the team’s underwhelming success while Trae Young was the face of the franchise, is deserving following the results of the season after Young was traded.
“For the job that he did this year, it’s not just a pat on the back, I think it’s a recognition of, ‘hey we have a guy that we believe in,’” Dukes said as he explained why he believes the Snyder contract extension signals Atlanta is confident in his ability to transform the team into one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference.Hawks extend head coach Quin Snyder
