Hawks key to series win over Knicks comes down to front court play

The 2025-2026 NBA regular season has come to an end and for the first time since the 2022-2023, the Atlanta Hawks have reached the first round of the playoffs in which they will face the New York Knicks, who they lost to twice out of the three times they faced them this season, including last week’s 108-105 loss.

“I’ll be talking about rebounding and defense,” 92-9 The Game’s, Carl Dukes, said on Monday as he and cohost, Mike Bell shred their thoughts on the Hawks avoiding the play-in round, which they were a part of the past two seasons, and previewed the opening round series.

“If we’re going to win this series, that’s the two areas,” Dukes explained he would be most concerned about in regards to how the Hawks can pull off the series win. “I’m not worried about scoring. We’re one of the highest scoring teams in the league. Defense and rebounding,” Dukes said explaining he understands the size disadvantage the Hawks face however believes inconsistency of the Knicks play in favor of Atlanta.

“The Knicks have not been on a roll like us. I don’t think they’re coming into the playoffs with a lot of confidence,” Dukes said.
