Trae Young came under fire early in the season when after a blowout home loss against Utah he said the regular season is boring.
At the time the Hawks fell to 4-5 and were in the early stages of a six-game losing streak. Things got worse before they got better, but the Hawks have mostly climbed out of a huge hole and Young's comments after Thursday night's win over the Phoenix Suns show just how far he has come this season.
"Playing tonight against the best team in the league, the best record, the mentality and focus I had, my teammates had, to come out and get a win, I love those moments," said Young.
Young poured in 43 points as the Hawks ended the Suns 11-game winning streak and closed out their own homestand going 4-1.
Obviously the bright lights were all on as the game was nationally televised so it will be key for Young and the Hawks to bring the same fire, focus, and energy in lower-profile games.
