After a surprising run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, the Atlanta Hawks came into this season with high expectations. But twelve games into the 2021-22 campaign, the Hawks are a disappointing 4-8 and are currently in the middle of a 5 game losing streak.
When Audacy NBA Insider Brian Scalabrine joined Andy and Randy to discuss the Hawks woes thus far, Brain was quick to point out that the “Hawks need to figure out how hard they need to play to win some games.”
Brian did have several positive things to say about the Coach Nate McMillian led squad, including he recognized that the “Hawks do play good basketball.”
Brian also told Andy and Randy that star player Trae Young has earned respect through the league, however the rest of the team, “may not get that respect.”
The Hawks played 8 of the first 12 games of this new season away from State Farm Arena, but if the team is going to turn around this slow start and live up to the expectations that so many experts predicted coming into the season, the rest of the players will have adhere to Brian’s advice and “learn how to make shots and go into attack mode”
The Hawks will get there first opportunity to get back on the winning side of the box score when they face off with NBA Western Conference power Denver Nuggets Friday night, and then they will have home contest against defending NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday back in Atlanta
