The Hawks led last night by as much as 15 in the second half yet found themselves trailing by 10 in the fourth quarter. Dukes & Bell talked about the team’s second half collapse and why it happened.
Carl talked about the rotations used by Nate McMillan and why Trae Young sat so long.
“I did not like the rotations last night, specifically leaving Trae on the bench for me when the Knicks go on their run, I have a hard time understanding why Nate allowed that to happen as long as he did,” Dukes said. “It wasn’t just Trae though, it was Bogi sitting from the 2:21 mark in the third quarter, Hunter went out with about five minutes to play didn’t come back until late in the fourth and when those guys finally got back in we go on a 13-3 run.”
“So was I frustrated? Yes because I also think there were a lot of things that played into this, but the Coach didn’t give us a chance with our star on the bench to either maintain the lead or at least stay close by allowing him to sit as long as he did last night.”
