Would Kirby Smart ever leave UGA for the NFL?

Kirby Smart just won his second National Championship as the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs and he's seemingly at the height of his powers. While it may scare Georgia fans, there is no doubt that at some point the NFL will come calling, but would Kirby ever actually make that jump?

John and Hugh discuss the job Kirby Smart has done at Georgia, the legacy of college head coaches leaving for the NFL, and if they think Kirby would ever do it.

"It feels to me (Kirby) being a UGA alum, that's his dream job. Kirby's making a ton of money in college, I don't see it," says Hugh Douglas. "Not saying he can't do it, but for Kirby, he's in the job he's always dreamed of having."

The list of prominent college coaches who have gone to the NFL and failed is a much longer one than those who have turned pro and succeeded. Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly, Lane Kiffin, Kliff Kingsbury, and most recently Matt Rhule have all made the jump and failed miserably.

"I can't see him going to the NFL. The list of coaches who have been successful at the top of college football and the NFL I could count on one hand," says John Fricke. "I don't see Kirby ever going t the NFL, I don't see Kirby ever leaving Georgia. He's got a lifetime contract."

There are a few who have done well in the NFL, won championships, like Pete Carroll and Jimmy Johnson, but recently those who have tried have done so and failed.
