The MLS stole some national and international headlines usually reserved for other sports leagues on Wednesday when it was announced that soccer superstar Lionel Messi was planning to join Inter Miami.

While that's a huge step for the entire MLS, many locally also wonder how Atlanta United can take advantage, and Atlanta United President and CEO Garth Lagerwey told Andy bunker and Robb Tribble that he feels the team is in a great position to take advantage.

"As the league grows, you're going to need to constantly evolve. If you look at the economics since this was announced, big things are ahead and we have to be cognizant of evolving our profile for players," says Lagerwey. "Mercedes Benz Stadium is arguably the best soccer stadium in the world. There are on other $2 Billion soccer stadiums, they don't exist. People are going to see this around the world and want to play there."
