Atlanta United was dealt a tough blow, announcing Emerson Hyndman suffered a torn ACL during a training session. There's no word on when or where the injury occurred.
Hyndman has started all seven games for the 5 Stripes this season and is one of the league's better defensive players.
United didn't give a timetable on Hyndman's return but it appears unlikely he'll return this season. Josef Martinez suffered a torn ACL in the first game last season and missed the remainder of the year.
Atlanta manager Gabriel Heinze will have time to figure out a replacement with the team's next match still over a week away on June 20.
