Atlanta United radio analyst Jason Longshore joined Dukes & Bell Monday to talk about the team’s win over Nashville on Saturday, Pity Martinez’s two-goal performance, and what’s next for the 5 Stripes.
Longshore talked about whether Pity can build on his two-goal performance Saturday night.
“I hope so, a lot of it depends on what we’re expecting from Pity Martinez," Longshore said. "Because this happens in clubs around the world. That number 10 shirt has a lot of different meaning here in Atlanta after Miguel Almiron wore it and Pity is not Miguel Almiron, he’s going to be a very different type of player.
“He’s not going to score, I don’t think as much as Miguel, I think he’s going to create more than Miguel. But in the position he was in, in this match on the left in a very free role, not involved in dropping deep to build up play, it was finish plays, perfect spot for him and I think he took full advantage.”
