The likelihood of Ben Simmons returning to the Philadelphia 76ers has increased, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Woj reports talks between the Sixers and Simmons' agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports have progressed and the chances of him returning to Philadelphia have increased, although Philadelphia continues to canvass the NBA for possible trades in the meantime.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reports the Sixers and Paul have "been working around the clock" to find a resolution for him to return to the team.
SI's Chris Mannix says a Simmons return to Philadelphia was "inevitable."

Just 11 days ago, the Sixers did not pay Simmons 25% of his salary that he was owed, as expected, as he continues to hold out. Simmons has a five-year, $177 million contract that does not expire until after the 2024-25 season.

On Media Day, Sixers president Daryl Morey spoke about the situation saying the Sixers remain hopeful Simmons will return to the team. Morey even compared the situation to Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers, who was also reportedly unhappy with his situation this past offseason but returned to his team. Morey explained that this stuff happens all of the time in sports.
