On Tuesday, 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery was joined by Atlanta Journal Constitution, Georgia Tech beat writer, Chad Bishop, to preview the Yellow Jackets season, which will begin when they take on Louisville at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Tech will be entering the season under Brent Key, who was named interim head coach back in late September last season before official being named head coach in November. The Yellow Jackets would go 4-4 under key to finish out the season with a 5-7 record after starting 1-3 under Geoff Collins.

During their conversation, Chuckery asked Bishop to share his thoughts on how what he believes Key’s ‘mindset’ is as they enter the season. “I get the impression from Brent Key that he’s angry and he’s agitated and I mean that in a good way,” Bishop shared with Chuckery. Bichop further explained that he believes that while Key was praised for his record as interim coach of the Yellow Jackets, “that’s not to his standard, he doesn’t want to go 4-4 and he doesn’t want to end up 5-7.

He doesn’t want to hear about Georgia being back to back or possibly three-peat national champions every single offseason,” Bishop said. Having been a former player for Georgia Tech, Bishop would continue saying that he believes Key “wants Georgia Tech to get back to the level that it was in 1990 when it won a split national championship, when it was going to big time bowl games,”.
