While Ronald Acuna Jr. continues to be one of the Atlanta Braves best producers at the plate leading the club with a .348 batting average and 48 hits, along with six homeruns and 21 RBI’s, the Braves’ right fielder is making his case for one of Atlanta’s best fielders. Rewind to Sunday when the Braves were closing out a three game set with the Orioles, Acuna Jr. was having one of his worst days at the play, yet had one of the key moments in the outfield when as he would single handedly be responsible for two of the Baltimore outs.

In the top of the 11th inning, Baltimore’s Adam Frazier would fly out to Acuna Jr. who would catch and throw in stride to Austin Riley in time for the tag on Austin Hays of the Orioles and that was the type of play to have 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery ask, “is this the year that Ronnie finally wins his Gold Glove,”? As Chuckery continued to share his thoughts on Acuna Jr.’s outfield play, he notes that Sunday’s heroic play was not the first the right fielder has made a spectacular play.

“Every single night Ronnie’s out there, he’s making some kind of play,” Chuckery adds. Back in April, the Braves were facing the St. Louis Cardinals and in the bottom of the seventh inning, St. Louis’ Brenden Donovan was up to bat with two outs and two runners on. Donovan would line the Dylan Dodd pitch over the head of Ozzie Albies into right field and a charging Acuna Jr.
would scoop and make the throw to Sean Murphy in time for the tag on Tyler O’Neill.
“Every time we see him, he’s making some big play,” Chuckery continued.
