While Sunday’s game was not the most entertaining and full of explosive plays, what was most important was that the Falcons walked away from MetLife Stadium with a win, which has given them back to back wins for the first time since the start of the season when they opened the Panthers and Packers to get off to a 2-0 start. In addition to picking up the win, another point worth noting was the play of Falcons’ quarterback, Desmond Ridder, and while he did not put up astronomical numbers, he played a pretty clean game.
“I think the big thing is that he didn’t make any mistakes that were going to cost you,” Atlanta Falcons’ Radio Network’s color analyst, Dave Archer told 92-9 The Game’s Morning Shift on Monday as he joined the crew to share his thoughts on the Atlanta win over the Jets. And despite dropping the ball on the opening snap due to the wet conditions, Archer credited Ridder for overcoming that mishap and overall having a solid day under center.
“He ripped a couple of really good throws, two in particular in the scoring drive where you got the short field opportunity,” Archer told the morning show hosts during their conversation as detailed several occasions in which Ridder made good decisions with his passes. “More than anything else, Des did a really good job at the line of scrimmage. He flipped plays, he didn’t make major mistakes,” Archer added as he explained how the Falcons “took care of the football”.
